Search newherenowlive.com for Danny McDonald Biography After 10 years touring Australia constantly and over 15 CD / Vinyl releases to his name (both as a Solo artist and as a member of the bands P76, Jericho, The Stoneage Hearts and Oscarlima), Danny McDonald has earned a reputation as one of Australia's finest and hardest working young singer-songwriters. Finally, he has confirmed this status with "Summer City" - the first full-length album to be released under his own name.
Danny's career so far has seen his play alongside artists such as The Hoodoo Gurus, The Stems, The Living End, You Am I, and The Beasts Of Bourbon among many others. He has appeared live on Australian TV shows Hey Hey It's Saturday and Rove, and his songs have been used on various Australian TV shows including The Saddle Club and Heartbreak High. Danny has also released CD and vinyl releases in countries as diverse as France, Japan, USA, Brazil and Spain.
Danny's new album "Summer City" reinforces his unique and identifiable songwriting approach as displayed on his previous works, moulding clever Australia-centric lyricism with an energetic, timeless melodic pop backing. It is released in 3 different countries (Australia, USA and Japan) in April and May 2003, and features the first radio single "Soaking Up The Sunshine", as heard on Australia's national JJJ and Austereo Network Radio.
"Summer City" continues on from where Danny's globally acclaimed "Into The Sun" album left off (originally released under his former pseudonymn "P76", and soon to be re-released under his own name). it shows a more mature & diverse side to an artist clearly in control of his own identity.
