Graphic design, "old-school" poetry, painting, novel-writing, and the occasional dabble in fashion design ... Matt from fevurmire certainly tries to pack as much "creative" energy into his week as possible, but his first love is music.
Only just formed in March 2003, Fevurmire has only obtained three stamps in their live scene passport - the first being the Rutherglen Wine Festival (check www.fevurmire.com for the vaguely amusing story behind that gig!). Matt has also aired some of their tunes acoustically at some open-mic nights in Melbourne (and I swear, at least 5 people clapped, so it can't have been too bad).
Due to Matt's broad selection of influence (some of which are BB King, Miles Davis, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Mozart, Ben Harper, Telemann, Muse, Vaughan Williams, Simon & Garfunkel, The Cure, The Smiths, Jeff Buckley, etc) their songs tend to be a veritable smorgasbord ... however there are common threads of strong rhythmic orientation, lyrical honesty and emotive delivery that holds it all together.
