Biography
Kristy Wilson’s misty eyed country balladry is like self-help for the Bridget Jones generation of losers in love. Her songs make you wanna laugh then cry, leave your boyfriend and then go crawling all the way back….

Inspired by the likes of Liz Phair, Bic Runga, Nancy Sinartra, and Lucinda Williams, Kristy is a city girl who sings country-esque songs direct from her every hopeful, but perpetually broken heart.

During the second half of the 90s Kristy lived in Brisbane and played with the band Weave. Weave did a lot of fun stuff, like play the ’98 Livid Festival, release two Eps (the single Blanket was blessed with Triple J airplay) and got to play with great bands like The Lucksmiths, The Mabels, Golden Rough, Stella One Eleven, Darren Hanlon, Jodi Phillis, and Acre.

Kristy’s major achievements as a solo lady include:
Airplay – her first single Strong Soft received a solid stint of airplay on Sydney’s Fbi 94.5, as well as getting a spin on Triple J’s Roots, Blues and Country show RootsnAll.
Songwriting – her song The Bright Side was chosen as a finalist in the Australian Songwriters Association 2004 National Comp.
Recording – 2004 sees Kristy showcasing and releasing her debut record Splinters – which was recorded with Christian Pyle (Acre) in his studia at Byron Bay.
Performing – currently Kristy is doing shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney for up to date details check out her website
