Biography
Once upon a time there was a prince. He eventually went mad from the consumption of furmity and sold his wife and child to the obnoxious cathedral inventor, Greg Puffin. They died. Four hundred years later, a band was formed in their honour and named after someone else.

Mark and Tom met in a room at high school. Four weeks later they found Antonio in another room. They then found Simon and James, who were led to believe they shared the same parents. Through the successful use of doors and instruments they all played in the same room, revelling in the intoxicating process of creating music

Mark converted an atheist into his garage and then the garage into a recording space. The band appropriated the venue as a means of capturing moments in time, in denial of their inevitable mortality.

Soon after, they began playing in pubs in Melbourne. Before one of these gigs, a boarder of Scottish descent from the same high school, asked if he could come and drink the band's beer since he had run out of money. durbeyfield declined but he showed up anyway and successfully drank the rider. He kept this form up, gig after gig, until it was found out that he played trumpet. To this day he is still trying to play off his debt.

durbeyfield has been playing around Melbourne in venues such as the Corner Hotel, the Mercury Lounge, the Evelyn Hotel, the Esplanade, The 9th Ward, the Pony, Revolver, the Cornish Arms, the Armadale Hotel and the Duke of Windsor.

While durbeyfield has been writing material over the last 18 months the band has supported a variety of bands such as Motor Ace, Speedstar*, Waikiki, Dan Kelly and the Alpha Males, Pete Murray, The Badloves, Snout, Klinger, Mick Hart and Epicure.
