Amaya Laucirica writes and sings with the soul of the country and the guts of the city.
A few years ago, Amaya moved from South Australia to Sydney, quickly emerging as one of the most exciting new talents within the Sydney live scene. During this time, she went from solo performances to working with a full band.
In mid 2004, Amaya packed up and moved to Melbourne where she put together a band, wrote some new songs and recorded her debut EP.
Recorded at Sing Sing and in a tucked away studio in the Dandenongs, the EP displays the bands natural ability to bring together folk, ambient rock, psychadelia and pop.
The band's dynamic live shows have generated interest from music labels and musicians alike, and the band recently opened for Magic Dirt on their latest tour.
Amaya Laucirica's music transcends genre, not because it is fashionable, stylish or hungry to be new, but because it is raw, honest and timeless.
